Salty Air, Sandy Hair. Three days on Fraser Island!
May 23rd, 2015
Close your eyes for a moment and picture yourself in the driver’s seat of a 4WD. The ocean is to your right, sand dunes to your left, salt soaked ocean breezes slipping through your hair, and no where to go but straight towards the horizon. You find yourself in a car full of wanderers, similar to yourself, all searching endlessly for that recurring feeling of smallness in the presence of something so beautifully vast it almost doesn’t seem real. You find yourself wondering how something so pristine could ever exist in this world. This is Fraser Island. The largest sand island in the world, only accessible by ferry, and best seen by driving in a 4WD vehicle with friends and camping out for three days!
Fraser Island is home to so many hidden gems and the experts at Dingo’s know exactly where to go so you get the chance to swim, hike, relax, and enjoy one spot after the next without ever feeling rushed. Bright blue freshwater lakes like Lake Mckenzie, lookouts like Indian Head, dingo spotting, and campfire songs under a sky full of stars and constellations, are all things that will take your breath away and leave you longing for more. Fraser Island is one of those places you will remember forever and crave to return to. On this island every single moment is a highlight. From driving on the sand with the music blasting (maybe getting stuck a time or two) with your newfound friends, to cooking dinner at the campsite and drinking by the fire, to seeing your first dingo and wondering whether you should be scared of it or not, Fraser Island is sure to top the list of your favourite places in the world. There is no better way to see all that Fraser Island has to offer than to get off the bus and experience it first hand. Allow the sand to take you to places you can only dream of and make lifelong memories with people from around the world in the process! If your friends at home weren’t already jealous of your travels, they will be now.
